All five class’ of cars were back in action chasing more O’Reilly Auto Parts ‘Race to the Championship’ points at Wayne County Speedway Saturday night. Broc Martin and Danny Mumaw would bring the Pine Tree Towing & Recovery Sprints to the green flag and Mumaw would grab the early lead as Martin and Chris Myers, the two heat winners, would fall in behind. A lap nine caution for Wyatt Zimmerman bunched the field together and when the race went back to green, Martin made the move on Mumaw going into turn one and swiped the lead away from Mumaw. The Orrville driver and his Orrville Trucking, Chaser’s Drive Thru and Guerne Heights Drive Inn #83m would quickly pull away as Myers took second from Mumaw on the next circuit. A three car battle for fourth was going on between Dean Jacobs, Ricky Peterson and Skylar Gee. Jacobs would take third at the halfway mark as Martin held a 12 car advantage over Myers. Mumaw, Peterson and Gee were now in the race for fourth and with five laps to go, both Peterson and Gee powered past Mumaw in turn two. As the laps dwindled down, Myers was trying evrey line to try and track down Martin but could not get close to make a challenge. Jacobs closed in on Myers but he would settle for third with Peterson outdueling Gee for fourth in the final two laps.

Making his first appearance at WCS in the Malcuit Tavern Super Late Model feature was David Airgood and he would take his outside front row starting spot and set the pace for the opening two laps using the extreme high groove at both ends of the 3/8 mile oval but he would miscalculate his mark in turn one on lap three and belt the guardrail hard and end his night early.  J R Gentry would inherit the lead and never look back to pocket his first win of the season at ‘Orrville’s Historic Oval’. Driving the El Campesino Restaurant, Holmes Pest Control and Skurt’s Custom Apparel #14 and coming off a win on Friday night, the Wooster driver  was never challenged and won by three seconds. over Doug Drown, who like Myers in the Sprint feature, tried different lines to close the gap but could never catch up to Gentry. In the early part of the feature, Ryan Markham and points leader Mitch Caskey had a tight race for third but Caskey would pull off on lap nine and Markham would secure third as a pair of #59’s would wheel and deal for fourth with Shane McLoughlin holding off Larry Bellman for fourth. Heat winners were Markham and Airgood.

Mansfield’s Kyle Moore would start on the outside front row of the CORBON Ammunition Modified main and would lead all the way for his second win at WCS and of the weekend. Driving the Slicker Graphic’s, Kepling Flooring and Arnold Motorsports #1* Moore would be chased bt Scott Peltz through out the race as Peltz could use the low line in the corners to get beside Moore, who would out power Peltz down the straight aways. In the final five laps, Moore pulled away with Peltz taking second. Bill Griffith and Mark Gardiner ran race long in third and fourth as Casey Butler rounded out the top five. Peltz and Moore topped the heats.

Several caution flags in the opening four laps of the McKenzie Concrete Super Stock main affected many top runners including Took Wiles who lead until front end problems sidelined him, Paul Holmes, and Tyler Wiles also went pitside and Kyle Moore went to pits right after the green flag waved on lap four. Wooster’s Chase Alexander would take the lead at that point and the race went green from there on. Alexander had pressure from Matt Shroyer for the lead but the Wooster Driver would keep the Dana’s Danes, Peter’s Chocolate Shop and Steel’s System #15 out front to collect his second feature win of the season as Shroyer finished second. Brandon Craver out dueled points leader Don Rutt for third as David Uhler rounded out the top five. Moore and Alexander posted the heat wins.

Jordan James of Loudonville used the outside front row also to grab the lead and went flag to flag for his third straight JOYRIDE Transport Mini Stock win. Driving the Harris Automotive, E A Construction and Lochevale Farms #83, James was hounded by Brad Hensel early on but mechanical issues on the last lap stopped his chances at the win. That would move Johnny Bruce into second while Kye Petiy out dueled Ryan Carder for third in the final two laps. Mitch Reichard was in that mix also and finished fifth. Posting the heat wins were James and Dustin Bedlion.

Next Saturday night, the United Late Model Series (ULMS) will invade Wayne County Speedway for a $3,000 to win feature as the Modifieds, Super Stocks and the Mini Stocks will also be in action as the Sprint cars will have the night off. Gates will open at 3 pm, hot laps at 6 pmand first race at 7 pm..
