The final night of the Overwatch Precision Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Kistler Engines wrapped up at Wayne County Speedway with Tiffin’s Zeth Sabo scoring his second win of the week by edging out Darin Naida, who finished second for the second time at Orrville’s Historic oval as he was runner-up on Monday’s race also. The week long championship goes to Republic’s Cap Henry, who out pointed Kalib Henry and Danny Dietrich for the crown. The 35 lap feature would start with Cap Henry and Sabo on the front row and in the early laps, would battle back and forth for the lead as fifth starting Kalib Henry and ninth starter Darin Naida moved into third and fourth place. Following a caution for Logan McCandless that turned into an open red, Sabo held off every challenge from Naida in the final 9 circuits around the 3/8 mile oval of WCS. Kalib Henry finished third and Cap Henry’s fourth place finish was good enough to pocket the week long championship. Cale Thomas would round out the top five.

The Malcuit Tavern Super Late Models were in action as Henthorn Golf Cart Sales and TruForm Products heat winners Kyle Moore and Doug Drown would bring the field to the green flag for the 25 lap feature and they would go side by side for the first two laps as Moore would inch ahead at that time. Both drivers used the low groove and as they worked lap 10, Drown was able to get by Moore and take the lead. At that point, Moore, who was fast qualifier, and his Mansfield based Kepling Flooring, 803 Company, and Smitley Towing went to the high groove and reclaimed the lead on lap 13 and drove away for the win. Justin Chance finished third as Billy Dawson moved from his 7th starting position to take home fourth as J R Gentry filled out the top five.

The next action at Wayne County Speedway will be Saturday, June 27 with the 61st Birthday race as the Pine Tree Towing and Recovery Sprints, the Malcuit Tavern Super Late Models, the Flynn’s Tire and Auto Modifieds, the Canton Glass House Super Stocks and the JoyRide Transport Sport Compacts will all be on hand for the first time this season. A Big Fireworks display will take place around 10 pm to celebrate the 61st season.
