Safe Communities of Wayne County is launching the 2026 Click It or Ticket
campaign during the “Redneck Rumble” at Wayne County Speedway on Saturday, May 16,
2026.
As racing fans gather for OVSCA Sprints and Late Models, safety advocates will be on-site to
remind the community that the most vital piece of safety equipment is the seat belt.
“The goal is for every fan to make it home safely,” said Hope Griffin, Safe Communities
Project Coordinator. “A seat belt is your best defense in a crash. We’re asking everyone to
buckle up every trip, every time.”
Event Highlights:
• Location: Wayne County Speedway, 10833 W. Smyser Rd., Orrville, OH, 44667
• Time: Gates open at 3:00 PM; Racing begins at 7:00 PM.
The national enforcement period runs from May 18 to May 31, 2026. During this time, the
Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol will increase patrols to ensure
all drivers and passengers are buckled up, day and night.
