Racing Returns to Wayne County Speedway – Gunn, Moore, Craver, Young, and Bruce Capture Wins!

ORRVILLE, OH – After weeks of relentless rainouts, Wayne County Speedway finally roared back to life Saturday night with an exciting Fast Five program that marked the official kickoff of the 2025 season. Fans were treated to intense racing across all divisions and a night full of wheel-to-wheel action on the dirt.

Pine Tree Towing & Recovery 410 Sprint Cars Jordan Ryan and Deven Borden led the field to green, but the race’s tone shifted early when Ryan spun on lap one, giving Tyler Gunn the opportunity to jump into the lead. Brandon Wimmer surged forward to take control before a yellow on lap two for a multi-car incident involving Henry Malcuit, Lance Heinberger, Ryan, and Tanner Tecco.

After the restart, Wimmer and Gunn traded the top spot until another caution flew for Danny Mumaw on lap four. From there, Gunn held firm at the front, while a late-race battle between Wimmer and Tyler Street brought the crowd to its feet. Gunn picked up the win, with Wimmer second and Street third.

Malcuit’s Tavern UMP Late Models The front row featured Ryan Markham and Kyle Moore, but it was third-starting J.R. Gentry who kept the pressure high on Markham in the opening laps. A spin by Kristin Uhler on lap three brought out the yellow.

As the race progressed, Larry Bellman advanced from fifth to third by lap 11, and by lap 18, Justin Chance—working the low line—slipped into third after starting ninth. Moore led every lap to take the victory, with Chance second and Markham rounding out the podium.

Canton Glass House Super Stocks Jordan Conover and Brandon Craver led the way early, but third-starting Brandon Morrow challenged hard from the start. Conover briefly held the lead, but Morrow’s aggressive slide job attempts began on lap five. He made it stick by lap 10. Conover pulled off on lap 11, and a lap later Morrow hit the berm and suffered a flat tire after a spin by Colton Cook.

Craver and Josh Morrow battled late, with Craver taking the win. Brad Hensel finished second and Denny Shear came home third.

Flynn’s Tire & Auto Service UMP Modifieds Kyle Moore and Nate Young started on the front row, with Moore taking the early lead. Brad Goff and Young battled fiercely, but by lap four, Goff spun, and Moore’s night ended with mechanical issues.

Multiple cautions between laps 5 and 12 shuffled the field, with names like Jimmy Humphrey, Caden Alexander, and Mason Canter contending for podium spots. Ultimately, Young held strong up front, fending off Goff for the win. Goff finished second, with Ryan Markham third.

Joyride Transportation Mini Stocks Justin Cranmore and Chris Mullinex led the field to green, but it was Cranmore who jumped to the lead. Contact between Cranmore and Johnny Bruce on lap four led to Cranmore exiting the race.

From there, Bruce inherited the top spot and faced stiff pressure from Brent Boreman, who charged from ninth to second. After a lap 11 caution, Bruce stayed composed and scored the win. Boreman finished second, and Kyle Petit claimed third.

Next Up: Saturday, May 18 Wayne County Speedway returns this Saturday with another Fast Five show.
