JORDAN RYAN CAPTURES FAST ON DIRT WAYNE COUNTY SPEEDWAY FEATURE

 Action was as hot as the weather Saturday night as the Honest Abe Roofing Fast on Dirt series made it’s 2025 debut at Orrville’s Historic Oval after being rained out earlier in the season. The 30 lap main event would see pole sitter Danny Mumaw take the opening lap lead but on lap 2 coming out of turn two, Tyler Gunn would power past for the  top spot as outside front row starter, Jordan Ryan settled into third. A fierce battle for fourth was going on between Tyler Street, Ricky Peterson and Trey Jacobs, who caused the yellow flag on lap 8 with a spin and damage to his #3j machine ending his night. Gunn using the high line around the 3/8 mile track, kept the lead as Mumaw stayed close in the low groove but he would bring out the next caution with a flat tire. That would move Sterling Cling into second as he would hound Gunn for the lead. As they went by the flagstand to start lap 20, they banged together but both kept going, racing for the lead.  Ryan would slip by Cling with four circuits to go as Gunn had built a comfortable lead but with two laps to go, Gunn suffered a flat tire ending his chance at a victory. Ryan inherited the point and the Bellevue driver and his Joyride Transport, Burn’s Electric and Meggitt’s Sandblasting & Painting #25 held off one last charge by Cling and record his 1^st win of the season at WCS. A race long battle between Tyler Street, Henry Malcuit and Ricky Peterson would see them finish in that order for top five final spots.

Mansfield’s Kyle Moore outpowered Mike Bores at the start of the Malcuit Tavern Super Late Model feature as caution flags on laps five and ten kept Bores with in striking range of Moore but he would pull away aboard the Kepling Floors, Shortstop, and Platinum Designs #1* for his 7^th win of the season. Ryan Markham started dead last in the feature because of mechanical problems in his heat race, worked his way to second on lap 18 and was closing the gap on Moore but ran out of time when the checkered flag flew to finish second ahead of Bores. Corey Conley, Cody Scott and Tyler Evans went back and forth all race long to finish fourth through sixth.

Chris Basich and Kyle Moore brought the Flynn’s Tire and Auto Modifieds to the green flag and Moore would take control of the race after a lap 2 caution and drive away in the McKenzie Concrete, R.C. Kuhn & Sons and United Concrete #21d for his fourth Modified victory this season at WCS. Eric Wilson came from starting 11^th to take second as Basich finished third while Jimmy Humphrey ran a solid fourth and Markham rounded out the top five after challenging for second midway through the feature.

The Canton Glass House Super Stock main started with the front row of Jordan Conover and Brad Hensel dueling for the top position in the opening laps before Conover took and grab his second win of the year. Driving the Wooster Hydrostatics, Dino’s Drive Thru and Rocman Masonary #69 the Forest Ohio driver was chased by Hensel, Brandon Craver and Colton Cook

Kyle Petit led the first eleven laps of the Joyride Transport Mini Stock feature only to have his car slow down going down the backstretch and then going back to the pits. Johnny Bruce would inherit the point and the Randolph driver and his Rio Quality Construction, K & K Auto Detailing and Bullet Proof Welding #311 would stave off runs by Travis Hutton and Doug Hensel for his second win of the season. Eugene Arkenburgh out raced Cody Musselman for fourth.

 Next SUNDAY Night, the DirtCar Summer Nationals ‘Hell Tour’ rolls into Wayne County Speedway with a 40 lap $7500 to win feature plus many more contingencies up for grabs. The Modifieds, Super Stocks and Mini Stocks will also be in acton with gates opening at 3 p.m. And racing at 7 p.m.
