Orrville, Ohio

Although rain was all around, except for a couple of drops before action got underway, skies cleared out as the night went on allowing ‘Orrville’s Historic Oval’ to get the program in. The Canton Glass House Super Stocks hit the 3/8 mile oval first in feature action as Jose Marsh and Braden Tucke swapped the lead several times in the opening two laps until the caution came out on lap three for Matt Hensel in turn two. During that time, Don Rutt, who was fast qualifier and the heat winner, pulled off into the pits after working his way to third. As the green flag flew once again, Tucke would start to pull away from the field aboard the Bishop’s Collision & Repair, Speedies Auto Salvage and M & S Transport #77 as the Canton driver would park in the Summit Racing victory circle for the second time this season. Behind Tucke there were two battles going on for positions as Mark Edwards challenged Jose Marsh for second as they went side by side with Edwards finishing second for the second time this season as Marsh would claim third for the second time this year. Following them, Denny Shear and Ryan Tope raced each other for fourth with Shear winning that battle over Tope.
After winning his heat race and starting last with a complete invert for the Joyridae Transport Sport Compact feature, David Potter quickly moved into the lead on the opening lap and was looking to pocket his third win of the year but on lap 12, pulled to the infield with mechanical issues, giving the lead to defending track champion Johnny Bruce. Driving the Trash Talk Dumpsters, Wizink Tattoos, K & K Auto Detailing #311, the Alliance driver would distance himself from the rest of the pack to score his first win of the season. Jacob Syx would out run Bryan Baker for second as Trent Bishop and Colton Davis rounded out the top five as everyone in the top five had their season best finishes.
After those races, the Stixx Up Promotions held a four division Demolition Derby and go to their website for results.
Next Saturday, July 25 will be Christmas in July with Santa Claus coming with gifts as on track action will have the OVSCA Sprints joining the Pine Tree Towing and Recovery Sprints along with the Malcuit Tavern Super Late Models, the Flynn’s Tire & Auto Modifieds, the Canton Glass House Super Stocks and the Joyride Transport Sport Compacts. Gates will open at 3 pm, hot lap/qualifying at 6 pm and racing beginning at 7 pm.
