Wayne County Speedway Holiday News
Orrville, OH --- Management and staff at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH would like to take this opportunity to extend their sincerest wishes that everyone involved in Motorsports, from race fans to drivers, crew, owners & sponsors, have an exceptional and very happy Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Even though the final checkered flag of the 2006 racing season has already been dropped, WCS management would like to remind everyone of some special activities coming up at the track including during the Thanksgiving weekend.
Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH and Works of Service Ministries are teaming up to assist the ministry in helping those less fortunate with a Works of Service Recycling Weekend that will be held on November 24 & 25 from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM on the grounds of the racetrack. The community is invited to participate and donate needed items to assist Works of Service in assisting others.
Works of Service is a non-profit organization with a 510-C3 designation and provides free or low cost maintenance, repair, and home improvement to area residents who are either physically or financially unable to address necessary issues around their homes. Most of the homeowners assisted are either single mothers with children, the elderly, the disabled or the economically disadvantaged, most with no one else to turn to. There are no prerequisites or strings attached in order to receive service, just an honest need.
Among the items being sought for donation are dimension lumber, new roofing material, building hardware, construction tools, plywood sheeting, plumbing supplies and any useable building materials. Scrap metals are also being accepted excluding appliances.
For those wishing to donate items the drop-off site will be at Wayne County Speedway located at 1083 Carr Road just south of Orrville.
For more information visit the Works of Service website at: http://www.worksofservice.org or telephone Dave Ryan at 330.262.4170.
