FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Miller Conquers Sprints, Brown & Anderson Win Season Champ Races At WCS

Orrville, OH --- Last Saturday evening at Wayne County Speedway Sprint Cars returned along with the Modifieds in what WCS termed Open Wheel Madness night. The Pure Stocks were also in action and when the final checkered flag waved for the evening it was Jamie Miller of Fostoria, OH pulling out the win in the Armstrong Utilities Sprint Cars with Kyle Brown of Wooster, OH taking the season championship win in the Cashland Modifieds and Troy Anderson of Lodi, OH taking the victory in the season championship race for the Thrifty Discount Muffler Pure Stocks.

When the green flag waved over the field of winged Sprint Cars polesitter Jason Dolick brought the field around to the flagstand but when the pack of open wheeled cars blasted off the second turn it was Jamie Miller in the lead with fourth starting Jamie Martin immediately slipping into second with Nick Mulheim following into third and Dolick in fourth. During the early stages Dolick and Aaron Shaffer went at each other side-by-side battling for fourth with Shaffer taking hold of that position on lap six as leaders Miller, Martin and Mulheim began to pull away from the field with a high-flying Nick Patterson on the move and reeling in Dolick in a bid for fifth that was eradicated on lap 10 when Patterson brought out the yellow flag.

On the restart Dolick found a quick groove and darted into third and mounted a challenge against Martin for second with Mulheim getting into the battle as Chuck Wilson jumped into the high groove and began picking off cars as he marched into fourth late in the race before grabbing the crowd’s attention as Wilson make a banzai last lap move on Martin for second as Miller led the field to the checkered flag. Following Miller was Martin, Wilson, Mulheim, Dolick, Bill Underwood, Aaron Middaugh, Nick Patterson, Butch Beasley and BJ Haudenschild.

In the ultra-competitive Cashland Modified season championship feature event the ‘Kyle Brown Show’ was once again in reruns as Brown dominated the season championship main event leading every lap for the not only the championship race but the season point championship as well driving his Wyss Appaloosa Show Horses, One Call Digital Design, Jim's Auto Center, Dari-Land of Wooster Hassey Chassis/Mark White Engines #41.

But the main event was not without it’s moments as there was plenty of action right behind Brown. When the green dropped it was Brown and fifth starting Allan Baker taking command of the first lap over David Liles, Charlie Duncan, Barry Jacobs and Bruce Jennings. By Lap 10 Brown was still in command with Liles, Jacobs and Jennings in tow before Jacobs moved into second on lap 18 as Brown led the field to the championship and the checkers over Jacobs, Liles, Jennings, Matt Shroyer, Brandon Morrow, Dean Alexander, Rory Reed, Nick Smith.

In the Thrifty Discount Muffler Pure Stocks it look like recent dominator Brad Channell would continue his dominance as he took the immediate lead in the season championship main event but that ended on the third lap when Troy Anderson took the lead from Channell powering off turn two with Todd Werntz following and taking second. Soon after Channel began experiencing problems as Fred Snyder and Chad Craver passed for third and fourth. By the midpoint Jim Nicely was entertaining the crowd with lap after lap of side by side action as Anderson took command and the win over Werntz , Snyder, Frank Oriti, Craver, Randy Nisley, Don Baney, Jr., Donna Canode, John Swinehart and Verne Siegrist
